In Hebrew, prepositions attach to pronouns to form single words. This is a very important topic for constructing sentences!


1️⃣ With preposition עִם (im) — "with"

2️⃣ With preposition בְּלִי (bli) — "without"

  • אֲנִי לֹא יָכוֹל בִּלְעָדֶיךָ — I can't without you

  • הִיא עוֹשָׂה הַכֹּל בִּלְעָדָיו — She does everything without him

3️⃣ Direct object particle אֶת (et) — "me, you, him, etc."

📝 Examples:

  • אֲנִי רוֹאֶה אוֹתְךָ — I see you
  • הוּא אוֹהֵב אוֹתָהּ — He loves her
  • הֵם מְחַכִּים לָנוּ — They wait for us
  • אַתָּה מַכִּיר אוֹתִי — You know me

📌 Important: The אֶת particle is used before a definite direct object!


4️⃣ With preposition אֶל (el) — "to"

  • בּוֹא אֵלַי — Come to me
  • אֲנִי הוֹלֵךְ אֵלֶיךָ — I'm going to you
  • הֵם בָּאִים אֵלֵינוּ — They come to us
  • הִיא נוֹסַעַת אֵלָיו — She travels to him

✅ Important Points:

1. Prepositions merge with pronouns into one word

2. Forms change depending on person, number, and gender

3. These forms need to be memorized, they are used constantly

4. With practice, these forms become natural

  • הוּא לֹא יָכוֹל בִּלְעָדֶיהָ — He can't without her
