HebrewGlot or Duolingo for Hebrew
Duolingo is great at building a habit. The catch: its Hebrew course teaches from English and barely touches the verb system.
Where Duolingo beats us
- Best-in-class retention mechanics: streaks, reminders, short lessons.
- Free at the basic tier and available on any device.
- A great start for the alphabet and the first few hundred words.
Where HebrewGlot is better
- A Russian interface and explanations: no need to learn Hebrew through a second foreign language.
- Binyanim as a system: seven meanings of one root, not a pile of random forms.
- Rule-based pronunciation diagnosis instead of a plain right/wrong verdict.
- Vocabulary for real newcomer situations: doctor, rent, bank, job interview.

Verdict
If you want five minutes a day and a habit, Duolingo does it better than we do. If you are stuck at "I know the words but cannot speak", the problem is verbs and pronunciation — and there Duolingo will not help.
