This is one possible spelling, not the only correct one: unvocalized Hebrew is ambiguous, and names are spelled differently in different documents.
Why there are several variants
Ordinary Hebrew texts have no vowel points, so the same spelling reads differently: ספר is séfer (book), sapár (barber) and sipér (told). Context decides, not the letters.
Russian names work the other way round: Hebrew has no separate letters for "v" and "o", so a medial "v" is doubled (Ivanov → איוונוב), and unstressed vowels are usually left out.
